I definitely agree with the belief that education should be personalized to the people you are teaching. By knowing and understanding how students in your class learn, and methods of engagement, educators can help learners to be more successful at learning the content. Differentiation was very important in my classroom because there were a lot of learning styles present. Some students needed accomodations while other students were naturally high achievers. Creating equity in learning is important because every student deserves the resources to have the same shot at being successful, no matter the situation. By personalizing education for all students, educators are better able to relate learning to real world situations, which really help the learners to internalize what they are learning. They are not just memorizing the content, but they are able to apply it to everyday life, which makes it relevant to them. What I've found during my time teaching is that once something is relevant to the learner, and they understand the why, they are more engaged and willing to do the work. In a room full of students most of the students will not learn the same way, but through personalizing education and catering content to different learning style, it gives eveyone a fair chance to be successful in the end.
