MY ADL JOURNEY
ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is LaDonna Green and I have been in education for eight years. In my current role, I serve my school district as the Wellness, Health & Prevention Specialist. In this role, I support the school health advisory council, the campus wellness committees at every campus, the Action-Based Learning Teachers, and the off-campus PE program.

I am hoping to make positive and beneficial changes in my organization with all things health and wellness. Through implementing the things that Have learned in the Applied Digital Learning Program at Lamar University, I am sure that great things will happen in our Behavioral Health & Wellness Department!

My main interests include supporting the students in my school district in the Destination Imagination competition, writing, and continuously improving my personal health and wellness journey.
My belief about learning is that every student can learn, regardless of any circumstance or accommodation. Given the right tools, and a growth mindset, any learner can excel and become as successful in academics as they want to be. The learner's mindset plays a big role in their trajectory.

CHANGING THE WAY THAT I THINK
Throughout the ADL program, I have learned to change from having a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. This program has helped me to learn about the importance of creating significant learning environments and helping learners to think outside of the box. We learned about giving learners ownership of their work and encouraging them and inspiring them in a way that makes them want to ask questions and find answers. We learned all about the learner's mindset and how COVA can transform learning for every learner. Experience the journey with the links below!

MY LEARNING COMMUNITY!
My learning community consisted of my study group: Benjamin Branco, Tristan Dixson, Jacob Montag, and Fred Williams. We supported each other from the first course until the last and I am grateful for them. There were also other students throughout this program that I was able to collaborate with and interact with on the discussion posts.Thought this ADL journey, I have had some amazing professors who were always there to give me direction and help me to be successful in everything that I created.
LET'S INNOVATE!
During the first few courses of the ADL program, I was given the opportunity to brainstorm and come up with an innovation for my organization. Through assessment of district needs, I created Community Focus Wellness Initiative, which can be used for health education and connecting students, faculty, an staff with resources to assist them in their personal health journeys and give them access to health professionals. RESOURCES: DIGITAL ENVIRONMENTS
During this part of the ADL journey, learners were given the opportunity to write an article to submit for publication. The article that I wrote was called Utilizing Digital Resources to Enhance Healthy Blended Learning. I will link the article below. The video on the right is the media pitch for the article.

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN ONLINE LEARNING
During this part of my ADL journey, I had the opportunity to create an online blended learning course for seventh grade health students centered around the health triangle (physical, mental, and social health) and the importance of preventative health measures. The overall goal of this course is to give students ownership of their personal health journey and to assist them in achieving wellness. The video to the left is a preview of the course and how it works. To continue the journey, click on the links below.
